Fleetzero is looking to develop and implement dynamic positioning capabilities on autonomous surface vessels.
Requirements
- Direct experience in coding and development of DP algorithms, including Kalman filters and other algorithms relevant for marine station keeping and positioning
- Experience obtaining approval for software with marine classification societies such as ABS, DNV, LR, etc.
- Experience with DP2 and DP3 systems in offshore energy, diving, subsea support, or military applications
- Deep fundamental understanding of the physics, math, and software engineering concepts involved in marine dynamic positioning
- Experience architecting and coding new DP systems from scratch
- Knowledge of naval architecture or marine engineering
- Experience modifying and improving the codebase of existing DP systems
Responsibilities
- Develop and adapt new and existing DP systems for use aboard autonomous and DP2/3 vessels
- Select, develop, and optimize algorithms and filters needed for a reliable next-generation DP system that exceeds class and industry standards for reliability and efficiency
- Design and execute tests of DP systems in simulated and field environments
- Develop interfaces and integrations of DP systems with marine autonomy systems, vessel automation systems, power and energy management systems, and other vessel systems
