HII Mission Technologies is seeking an Engineer Software 2 to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) Joint Staff J7(JS J-7) contract at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex. This position may be open to hybrid/remote work, however the individual will need to be local in the Hampton Roads area to come onsite as needed/required to the Joint Staff Complex in Suffolk, VA.
Requirements
- Must have programming experience in one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, Python, C++, or C-Sharp.
- Proficient software debugging skills.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of C++/C-Sharp in a Visual Studio environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Develop well-written code using provided coding standards
- Testing software using a Test Procedure or Requirements document and documenting/correcting any errors found.
- Documents cold starts and develops software for new and revised virtual environment courses.
