Requirements
- Proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Excellent skills in designing and debugging complex services
- Good understanding of all aspects of the software development process
- Demonstrated experience in shipping high-quality products or services
- Be an effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with multiple teams
- Have a passion for customers, product quality and test engineering
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
Responsibilities
- Core Platform Innovation: Excel core functionality and fundamentals, including the Calculation Engine, Collaboration Experiences, Performance and Accessibility
- Business intelligence: Data visualization through PivotTables and Charting, powering new Copilot experiences in the grid
- AI-Powered Intelligence in the Grid: Enhance the customer workflow with Contextual Suggestions powered by Copilot to provide inline interactivity where it matters most
- Data Visualization & Business Intelligence: Reinvent how users interact with data through PivotTables, Charting, and new Copilot-driven insights
- Cloud-Scale Architecture: Re-architect the service-backed infrastructure that powers collaboration, Copilot, the services, cloud, and optimized file storage and handling
- Strategic Enterprise Partnerships: Work closely with high-impact customers to refine and extend Excel’s core fundamentals—calculation, collaboration, reliability, and performance
- Design and develop large components with quality, performance, simplicity, durability, scalability, and maintainability
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
