The New York Islanders Hockey Club is seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack), Hockey Analytics to build and maintain web applications for the Analytics department within Hockey Operations, aiming to enhance front office operations and present information clearly to staff.
Requirements
- Coding proficiency in React Native required.
- Java preferred.
- Knowledge of Python, R are nice to have
- Experience in both front-end development and API development required
- Relational Database experience (e.g., MySQL, RDBMS) required
- Experience with Cloud Computing (e.g., GCP, AWS) infrastructure is a plus
- Knowledge of containerization, deployment, and CI/CD processes is preferred
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain web applications using React, Java/Spring Boot, and other API frameworks
- Develop scalable and maintainable back-end services to support internal tools
- Create front-end interfaces and dashboards that present information clearly to Hockey Operations staff
- Collaborate with analytics staff and other members of the front office to create user-facing tools
- Contribute to code reviews, testing, and documentation in a collaborative environment
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, or another related field
- 2+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, DevOps Engineer)
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
