Google Public Sector's Sovereign Mission Solutions team is looking for a Software Engineer to help public sector clients leverage Google Cloud technologies, build products for automation, repeatable patterns, and intelligent insights through advanced data analytics and Generative AI, and accelerate digital transformations for US public sector institutions.

Requirements

  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience in languages such as Java, C++, Go, Python, or full-stack development.
  • Certification in: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist or CKS.
  • Experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • Experience with AI, deep learning, or natural language processing.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy solutions that address the unique needs of our public sector clients.
  • Develop prototypes and build front-ends and back-ends for greenfield projects.
  • Work with GPS Sovereign Engineering and Google Distribute Cloud Engineering to survey existing pain points, and propose solutions and improvements.
  • Participate in and lead architecture and engineering designs with peers and stakeholders, and exercise technical judgment (e.g. deciding between available technologies).
  • Review code and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Articulate technical concepts and analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences, including engineers and executives.

Other

  • This position requires that you currently possess and maintain an active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph.
  • The position further requires to obtain a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform GPS work.
  • Failure to maintain (or obtain, if applicable) the appropriate U.S. Government clearance or customer screening requirements that results in the employee unable to perform the requirements of the role, may result in employment action up to and including termination.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in software development.
