Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement software solutions for their Automated Tank Gauge and related platforms, driving innovation and modern technology adoption.
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C, C++, Java, NodeJS, JavaScript, or Python.
- Familiarity with at least one software development life cycle approach, such as Waterfall, Agile, or Kanban.
- Experience with continuous integration and automated testing technologies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and JSON is beneficial.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and their associated services is a plus.
- Basic understanding of version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to learn and adapt to modern technologies quickly.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement software solutions to meet business needs on our Automated Tank Gauge and related platforms.
- Apply your knowledge of modern technology stacks and frameworks, such as C++, Java, Python, and others, and help the team to adopt these technologies.
- Contribute to developing best practices and standards for using various programming languages across our products.
- Utilize Agile methodologies to enhance team collaboration and project delivery.
- Work closely with peers, electrical, and mechanical development teams, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to create impactful solutions.
- Learn from senior engineers and gradually mentor peers on design and coding practices, while gaining exposure to modern technologies.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or electrical engineering (or related).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Enthusiasm for software development and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
