Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement software solutions for their Automated Tank Gauge and related platforms, driving innovation and modern technology adoption.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C, C++, Java, NodeJS, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Familiarity with at least one software development life cycle approach, such as Waterfall, Agile, or Kanban.
  • Experience with continuous integration and automated testing technologies is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and JSON is beneficial.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and their associated services is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to modern technologies quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement software solutions to meet business needs on our Automated Tank Gauge and related platforms.
  • Apply your knowledge of modern technology stacks and frameworks, such as C++, Java, Python, and others, and help the team to adopt these technologies.
  • Contribute to developing best practices and standards for using various programming languages across our products.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies to enhance team collaboration and project delivery.
  • Work closely with peers, electrical, and mechanical development teams, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to create impactful solutions.
  • Learn from senior engineers and gradually mentor peers on design and coding practices, while gaining exposure to modern technologies.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or electrical engineering (or related).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Enthusiasm for software development and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
