Chewy is looking for a Software Engineer I to join their Marketing Science and Operations Tech team to build applications, services, and features that power their products. This role aims to support business goals by delivering high-quality features and improving production systems.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming).
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C++).
- Familiarity with software development best practices such as version control (Git), testing, and debugging.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with software engineering standard processes across the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for design, development, delivery and support of high impact, distributed software and tools.
- Design and implement data integration services.
- Adhere to enterprise architecture and coding standards.
- Actively participate in architecture and code reviews to deliver high quality code.
- Actively participate in scrum ceremonies such as grooming, planning, demos and retros.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technologies, and contribute in a collaborative team environment.
