Cox Automotive is seeking a Software Engineer I to join their Velocity engineering team, supporting the Simulcast platform. Simulcast is Manheim's live digital auction platform, enabling dealers to remotely participate in vehicle auctions. The platform is designed for split-second decision-making and provides real-time access to vehicle data, auction status, and bidding tools. The role involves building and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS, reducing technical debt, and delivering business-critical initiatives.

Requirements

  • Java and ReactJS
  • AWS
  • New Relic, Splunk, and PagerDuty
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Experience designing and optimizing access to relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native software and integration, ideally with AWS (experience with Azure or GCP also considered).
  • Hands-on experience with distributed version control systems such as Git.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support solutions for our cloud-native Simulcast application.
  • Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products.
  • Own applications end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support
  • helping us reduce technical debt
  • deliver business-critical initiatives.

Other

  • Collaborate within an Agile delivery team to foster a culture of passion, trust, and creativity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years' experience in a related field
  • Exposure to Agile development practices.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve code quality, accelerate delivery, and enhance productivity.
