Cedar Falls Utilities is looking to hire a Software Engineer I/II to support and develop applications and database systems, ensuring the smooth operation of enterprise, departmental, and local desktop applications, while also providing end-user support.
Requirements
- Experience with front-end technologies such as React, AngularJS, or Vue preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 development would be beneficial.
- General working knowledge of the following: SQL, JavaScript, React, HTML/CSS, XML, XLST, XPATH, Windows and Unix command functions, and specific working knowledge of Java, and/or Microsoft 365 development languages.
- 1-5 years working in a technical capacity in information systems that included application development and administration and/or database management and/or implementation and administration of web services.
Responsibilities
- Assists in administration and monitoring of critical information systems including database management, application development, interfaces, workflows, and web services.
- Review and revise software requirements in collaboration with system analysts.
- Leads projects as assigned by Information Systems Manager during systems implementations, migrations, upgrades, and patching.
- Responds to end-user support and enhancement requests.
- Provides training and creates documentation for programs and applications.
- Performs unit testing for new code and applications.
- Develops integrations between applications for data transfer.

- Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes positive relations with customers, coworkers, and management.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent programming experience.
- Oracle/Microsoft certifications preferred.
