Datadog is looking to integrate its observability and AI capabilities directly into developers' everyday workflows within IDEs like Cursor and Visual Studio Code, aiming to empower engineers to understand their code and systems in real-time directly within their editor.

Requirements

  • Experienced in creating developer tools or IDE extensions.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, ideally Typescript + (e.g., Python, Go, Rust).
  • Experience building VS Code extensions, Language Servers (LSP), or similar developer integrations.
  • Skilled at writing testable, maintainable code and ensuring smooth CI/CD integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement developer tools that surface Datadog observability data within VS Code and Cursor.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams across Datadog, working on products such as Logs, Error Tracking, Dynamic Instrumentation and the Datadog MCP Server.
  • Own a key piece of a high-visibility, user-facing product that directly impacts developer experience.
  • Integrating Datadog services and technologies directly into the Datadog extension for Cursor & VS Code.
  • Build features and tools that empower engineers to understand their code and systems in real time, leveraging Datadog’s runtime data and analytics directly inside their editor.
