LexisNexis Risk Solutions is looking for a Data Software Engineer II to work on ETL processes and projects to convert data from Law enforcement agencies to specific company schemas, ensuring data is ingested into the cloud.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages
  • Ability to work with simple data models.
  • Proficiency in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
  • Familiarity of industry best practices — code coverage.
  • Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Knowledge of data storage subsystems
  • Knowledge of test-driven development

Responsibilities

  • Work on ETL processes / Projects to convert data from Law enforcement agencies to specific company schemas.
  • Convert, correct and write code to ensure data is ingested to the cloud.
  • Work directly with law enforcement IT and support our technologies to ensure data feeds are working 24/7.
  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Work on Data client translation, meaning build the project in Visual Studio, install the service to retrieve their tables on the cloud.
  • Build C-Sharp projects to translate the clients data into our format.
  • Troubleshoot existing installation with customers, resolve issues with SQL data conversions and automation problems (SQL agent, Task scheduler, services etc).

Other

  • Work closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate scoring code and ensure model accuracy.
  • Document methodologies and follow best practices in statistical modeling
  • Meetings with PMO and agencies to answer technical questions
  • Basic oral and written communications skills
