Vivint Smart Home, an NRG owned company, is seeking to expand its Platform Infrastructure team to build, scale, and maintain core services that power its IoT platform, which supports smart home technology for over a million customers. The goal is to ensure high availability, resilience, and seamless integration across the Smart Home ecosystem.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent) with 4+ years of experience, or 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages.
- Ability to solve complex problems and write maintainable code.
- Ability to learn and work with tools like Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Familiarity with OpenVPN, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or gRPC is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Building, scaling, and maintaining the core services that drive Vivint’s IoT platform.
- Designing systems to handle high-performance scaling.
- Implementing advanced monitoring solutions.
- Driving improvements across Platform engineering to ensure high availability and resilience.
- Partnering with teams across Vivint—including mobile, embedded, and data services—to support seamless integrations with the Smart Home ecosystem.
- Working with innovative technologies while solving real-world challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Autonomously innovating and contributing to groundbreaking systems that power Smart Homes.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent) with 4+ years of experience, or 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
- Collaboration with teams across Vivint in a highly collaborative role.
- Participation in Innovation Week, where engineers work on projects of their choice to improve products or develop internal tools.
