The OneNote team is looking to build transformational experiences in Copilot notebooks, which are intelligent, dynamic notebooks infused with powerful AI that act as a true "second brain." This involves running services that power OneNote at scale, building grounding capabilities, creating richer artifacts, supporting multi-modal capture, and building agent support on top of Copilot notebooks. The role also involves deep architectural improvements to optimize performance and increase reliability across all Web and mobile platforms.
Requirements
- coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 2+ years cloud and services experience.
- Hands-on experience debugging and resolving any technical issues throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Background in working with large-scale, distributed systems
- Experience leveraging AI to increase engineering velocity and quality.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
- Design cloud solutions using microservice architecture and other techniques.
- Package up solutions to make them easy and attractive for other teams to follow.
- Act (at times i.e. in rotation) as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.
- Remain current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
- Leverage the work of others, including the work of peers, of internal Microsoft solutions, and of open-source and industry solutions, to avoid reinventing the wheel.
- Contribute to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
Other
- Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of sets.
- Contribute to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provide estimation.
