The COO organization within Microsoft Commercial plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and transformation across the company. Its mission centers on creating a blueprint for transforming Microsoft through AI, continuous improvement and modeling what it means to be a Fronter Firm. We are the Central Fraud and Abuse Risk (CFAR) team powered by innovation and risk intelligence. We leverage security, compliance, AIOps, DevSecOps domain expertise, troves of labeled data, and talented engineers to deliver resilient AI-first services that set the standard for the industry. We build, buy, and integrate the best and the latest cloud technologies and datasets to deliver a flexible, scalable platform that amplifies both automated and human decision-making.

Requirements

  • 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • 2+ years of experience with Distributed Services
  • 2+ years of experience building scalable, efficient, and reliable cloud services.
  • Experience with systems design, architecture, and writing unit tests and integration/ end to end tests
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms like Azure, AWS.
  • Experience in container ecosystems, including Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Deep understanding of LLMs, Agentic AI frameworks (e.g Semantic Kernel), and orchestration patterns for autonomous systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship scalable, AI-native cloud applications and microservices consuming custom and foundation models, RAG, and autonomous agents.
  • Architect Agentic AI systems with goal-driven behavior, multi-step reasoning, and tool-use capabilities.
  • Integrate MCP servers to expose internal tools and APIs to LLMs via JSON-RPC, enabling seamless agent interaction across platforms like Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry.
  • AIOps for intelligent observability, anomaly detection, and auto-remediation across distributed systems.
  • Ensure the highest standards of security and quality in all aspects of our work, from design to deployment.
  • Bring software engineering habits and produce high quality code that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership: architecture, design, code reviews, development, quality assurance and live site support for mission critical services to ensure high availability, scalability, and resiliency.

  • 3 days / week in-office
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Collaborate with colleagues including product owners, UX designers, AI/ML Engineers/Researchers, data scientists and other engineers to create delightful and meaningful experiences for our customers.
