Akamai is looking to hire a Software Engineer II to join their Appsec Engineering team. This role will focus on developing and enhancing security products and platforms that secure the cloud, handle billions of transactions, and manage petabytes of data daily. The engineer will contribute to making the network more stable, faster, and more secure.
Requirements
- Have expertise developing web applications or data pipelines in Java and experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Have proven experience designing data structures
- Have security and web application development experience
- Be willing to learn backend technologies (JVM)
- Experience building scalable servers or distributed systems
- Working with: Java 17+, RESTful APIs, Spring, Hibernate, Azure, Terraform, SQL, Linux/Unix, Python/Perl, AI & ML
Responsibilities
- Creating new features, enhancing existing ones and optimizing functionality
- Working on projects that make our network more stable, faster, and more secure
- Partnering with our development and system QA teams
- Collaborating with our operations teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problem escalations for our customers
- Working with: Java 17+, RESTful APIs, Spring, Hibernate, Azure, Terraform, SQL, Linux/Unix, Python/Perl, AI & ML
