SimpliSafe's Enterprise Information Systems team needs to improve how customers learn about products, interact with the website during sales and fulfillment, and receive their home security systems to meet the company's mission of keeping every home secure. The role will focus on shaping the e-commerce codebase by improving developer experience and long-term engineering vision, and architecting solutions across multiple platforms and services impacting e-commerce, operations, and customer service teams.
Requirements
- Knowledge of REST, GraphQL, and modern web technologies
- Demonstrated experience with frontend implementations in modern web frameworks (e.g. Remix, React Router, Next.js) and rendering strategies (e.g. SSR, CSR, SSG)
- Experience designing and implementing backend services, designing and building APIs for others to consume
- Familiarity building and running scalable and fault tolerant cloud based microservices using AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Comfortable with working with CI/CD workflows and improving development processes
- Automation testing experience with tools like Playwright
- Infrastructure as code and DevOps experience such as Terraform or CDK
Responsibilities
- Champion developer experience and work with with engineers / stakeholders to identify and streamline common pain points and frictions in our development processes
- Using the best tools for the job; creating right-sized, tested, and reliable services to meet the needs of the customers and co-workers
- Drive improvements in our CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to minimize deployment friction and maintain high code quality
- Working with ecommerce stakeholders on new features and service integrations throughout the sales funnel
- Developing and maintaining backend services and APIs that integrate with a variety of internal and external platforms
- Write clear, detailed documentation and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to champion platform best practices throughout the engineering organization

- 2+ years of industry experience
- Experience or strong interest in developer tooling, shared service development, and contributing to the technical foundation of a shared codebase
- Comfort participating in code reviews, writing documentation, and architecting and presenting software solutions
- Agile team experience with a desire to help the team and an interest in continuous delivery of high quality software
