DigitalOcean is seeking to drive product growth through experimentation, data-driven innovation, and the strategic use of AI tools by hiring a Software Engineer II to join their Growth R&D engineering team.
Requirements
- Proficiency in modern full-stack technologies including React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, GraphQL, Go, and Python
- Experience designing and executing A/B experiments, analyzing results, and making data-informed product decisions
- Familiarity with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar, with demonstrated safe and effective workflow acceleration
- Understanding of AI tool governance, security considerations, and best practices for AI-assisted development
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy large-scale, multi-product experiences within the Cloud Console, primarily using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Go
- Own the complete lifecycle of growth experiments, from hypothesis creation and implementation to statistical analysis and iteration
- Leverage AI tools strategically to accelerate feature development while maintaining high standards of code quality, security, and best practices
- Enhance operational systems by improving platform architecture, monitoring, and deployment processes
- Promote a culture of data-driven experimentation through A/B testing, sharing insights and best practices across teams
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development workflows, experimentation velocity, and technical excellence
Other
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as a full-stack software engineer in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
- Strong product sense and UX intuition, with the ability to balance user experience and technical constraints
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting metrics and translating data insights into actionable improvements
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working effectively with diverse stakeholders
