The Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) team at Microsoft is trying to solve the problem of keeping Windows powered enterprises, data centers, and cloud services safe and secure through software updates while minimizing downtime, and the team is building a modern AI powered engineering system to achieve this goal.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Windows operating system internals.
- Proficiency in building cloud-native applications on Azure.
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI APIs or similar LLM-based platforms.
- Solid experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- 3+ years of experience in software development with C/C++ or equivalent Exposure to assembly, OS kernel, low-level trouble shooting and debugging.
- Experience with cloud platforms, Azure, Kusto, Python, AI tools is added advantage.
- Proven expertise in developing frameworks and solutions that scale across multiple teams and products.

- Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight. Helps to identify other teams and technologies that will be leveraged, how they will interact, and when one's system may provide support to others.
- Identifies areas to efforts to integrate instrumentation for gathering telemetry data on system behavior such as performance, reliability, availability, usage, and safety mechanisms. Contributes to sustaining feedback loops from telemetry resulting in subsequent designs.
- Creates a clear and articulated plan for testing and assuring quality of solutions, and defines success for outcomes of tests (e.g., unit tests). Adds new tests, removes antiquated tests, and aggregates tests to improve tests in the feature area.
- Maintain close technical relationship with partner teams, provide technical leadership and drive for engineering excellence and results.
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams and align technical efforts with organizational goals.
