Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence, and is looking to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new class of data-first applications and driving a data culture, specifically with Azure Cosmos DB, a globally distributed, massively scalable, multi-model cloud database service.
Requirements
- 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 2+ years of experience designing, developing reliable engineering systems, and/or infrastructure.
- Preferred demonstrated experience with Azure technologies (or other cloud computing platforms) and distributed database systems.
- Drive to improve performance, availability and supportability of services.
- Drive to increase efficiencies through automation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high scale services that form the backbone of Cosmos DB.
- Dive deep into Azure technologies and distributed database systems.
- Collaborate with partners, internal and external to Azure Cosmos DB organization, to design and build features that drive service growth.
- Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems.
- Build reusable libraries of services best practices for other teams to leverage.
- Work in a culture of continuous improvement, adaptation, reflection, and growth.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
