The Azure Host Storage team is responsible for delivering the storage virtualization platform that supports Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and containers. This role aims to improve the availability, performance, and efficiency of this platform by contributing to the next generation of Host Storage Control path and enhancing the control path architecture.
Requirements
- 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++ or Rust
- 1+ year(s) of experience developing cloud scale production software.
- 1+ year(s) of experience system design, algorithmic and problem-solving skills.
- 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++ or Rust
- 1+ years of experience designing, building and running large scale and highly available cloud services or distributed systems.
- 1+ years of experience working in Kernel Mode Drivers, Storage solutions
- 1+ year(s) handling periodic live service on-call responsibilities or similar and working in dev-ops mode.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the next generation of Host Storage Control path to improve the availability and performance of Azure VMs
- Improve the control path architecture to enhance platform reliability, performance while reducing the Azure Host resource usage
- Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
- Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

- Collaborate with various stakeholders to enable various end-user scenarios
- Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.
