Microsoft is looking to solve the problem of developing, deploying, and operating Azure SQL services within an air-gapped environment, ensuring these services meet the security policy and assurance requirements of highly secured and regulated industries for both public and private sector customers.
Requirements
- coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Experience in development in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Experience in building large scale cloud services, distributed systems, or operating systems.
- Experience with improving service operations or engineering fundamentals.
- Experience building and shipping production software or services.
- Experience developing applications hosted on top of Azure, AWS, or other similar cloud platform.
- Experience with problem solving and debugging skills.
Responsibilities
- Develops features, improvements, enhancements, and bugfixes within Azure SQL products.
- Responsible for deploying and operating Azure SQL services within an air-gapped environment.
- Defines and develops standardized, repeatable, scalable solutions to guarantee quality.
- Develops “best-in-class” engineering for our services by ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable.
- Improves test coverage for services, organizes and implements integration tests, and resolves problem areas.
- Contributes to the development of automation within production and deployment of a complex product feature.
- Drives efforts to collect, classify, and analyze data on a range of metrics (e.g., health of the system, where bugs might be occurring).

- The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
