Microsoft's Cloud+AI Silver Team is looking for a Software Engineer II to solve the challenge of enabling Azure services in highly secure and regulated, airgapped environments where traditional cloud approaches are not feasible. This role is critical for national security missions and protecting critical infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Full stack development experience with modern frameworks and cloud-native architectures
  • Demonstrated understanding of CI/CD concepts, Azure DevOps, and Git/GitHub workflows
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with Windows or Linux system administration
  • Deep debugging skills across the entire stack - from OS to cloud services
  • Proficient in scripting languages with judgment about when to transition to managed code
  • Track record of writing maintainable, well-tested code that scales

Responsibilities

  • Deploying and operating critical infrastructure in airgapped environments
  • Architecting a new service
  • Troubleshooting a production incident
  • Building automation for production deployment and operations
  • Ensuring processes achieve the highest standards of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility
  • Collecting, classifying, and analyzing metrics on system health, performance, and reliability
  • Building code that scales to customer requirements and performs under pressure
