Travelers is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their organization as they grow and transform their Technology landscape, specifically focusing on AI and emerging technologies to transform business and technology capabilities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience with demonstrated progression in technical complexity
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with AI/ML frameworks
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Solid understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture
- Experience with modern data stores (MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases)
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other developers
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Temporal)
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and architecture decisions for AI-powered applications and automation solutions
- Partner with architects and product owners to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Design and develop solutions using large language models, agentic workflows, and modern cloud services (AWS/Azure)
- Build and maintain containerized applications using Kubernetes and implement infrastructure as code with Terraform
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices
- Drive adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation across the team
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers

- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
