Rocket Lab is looking to hire a Software Engineer II – Operations Software to create, maintain, deploy, and support components, functions, or services in launch vehicles and spacecraft operations to support their mission of opening access to space.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software experience
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with one of: Redmine, Jira, or other issue tracker
  • Golang Development
  • High-performance systems & scalability
  • Network Protocols (UDP / TCP / gRPC / CCSDS)
  • Linux Containers

Responsibilities

  • Acquisition, ingestion and storage of telemetry from: Launch Operations, Spacecraft Operations, Integrated Systems Testing, Operational Simulations, Sub-System Testing
  • Design and implement software, tests, and architecture based on feature requests and bug fixes.
  • Create operational documentation for software products.
  • Manage and review source code using version control tools and establish code review standards.

Other

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Rocket Lab Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable.
