Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is looking for a Software Engineer III to design, develop, integrate, and maintain advanced ground software solutions for commercial aircraft operations, focusing on reliable, high-performance applications for major airlines and military organizations.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python, C-Sharp/.NET, and TypeScript, with experience developing applications using Angular.
  • Strong understanding of HTML/CSS and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs for scalable backend services.
  • Working knowledge of AWS services including Lambda, S3, and RDS.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, debugging, and performing system-level analysis.
  • Proficient in Git and familiar with standard version control workflows and branching strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and unit test robust, scalable software components that meet performance and maintainability standards.
  • Build backend APIs and tools with a focus on scalability, reliability, and long-term support.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and system architecture decisions to ensure high-quality software design.
  • Work collaboratively with QA, product managers, and fellow engineers in Agile sprints, contributing to planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
  • Contribute to technical documentation including specifications, API references, and system design artifacts.
  • Engage in internal meetings, customer communications, and industry events to support product development and alignment with stakeholder needs.

Other

  • Bachelors of Arts (BA) or Science (BA) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, in addition to 3-5+ years of professional or professional-equivalent experience in software development or related roles.
  • Exposure to the aviation or aerospace industry
  • Agile/Scrum project experience
  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262) *(if applicable)
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
