Google needs software engineers to develop next-generation technologies that can handle information at massive scale and extend beyond web search, and to work on specific projects critical to Google's needs
Requirements
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
- 2 years of experience in Data Management or Data Integration or Data Domain, System Integration, Distributed Databases, SQL Pipelines
- Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering
- Experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging
- Experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting
- Experience developing accessible technologies
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages
Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions
Other
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields (preferred)
- Ability to work in San Francisco, CA, USA or Sunnyvale, CA, USA
- Must be willing to share preferred working location
