Google's Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for its users, and enabling developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. This role will contribute to building new map experiences and platform capabilities.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- Experience with client side development.
- Experience with graphics.
- Experience with Android and/or iOS development.
- Experience with performance and reliability.
- Experience with software architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design for client-side rendering solutions intersecting the scope of the Google Maps Mobile, Maps SDK and Auto.
- Develop and leverage client-side rendering expertise to make direct technical contributions to the code base following best practices (e.g., style guidelines, accuracy, testability, maintainability and efficiency).
Other
- Collaborate with Seattle, Mountain View and Bangalore partner teams that are working on building out the new map experiences and platform capabilities.
- Collaborate effectively with peers and cross-functional partners across timezones to deliver on Geo-level strategic priority.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
