Google Ads is seeking software engineers to develop and launch features for advertiser-facing and serving stacks, manage project priorities, and design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions to power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. The Unified Goals team aims to provide a powerful and scalable infrastructure for critical campaign automation and optimization features, with projects including re-envisioning the existing platform with a consolidated and extensible data model and new technologies, and driving the growth of advanced goals with cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience with software development in Java, software engineering, back end or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience with ads background or ad serving systems, C++, Google Infrastructure, API Development.
- Experience in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Own, develop and launch features spanning across advertiser-facing and serving stacks with quality, speed and minimal help.
- Generate data and build dashboards to help evaluate the success of features.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- Versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
