Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. Products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. The Labs group focuses on incubating early-stage efforts to discover and create new ways to advance core products through exploration and application of new technologies, building new solutions with potential to transform user interaction with Google and deliver significant impact over longer timeframes.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++.
  • Experience with cloud computing and distributed systems.
  • Experience with service deployment, evaluation, performance monitoring, and testing.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), GKE Networking, and Istio.
  • Knowledge of Google's internal infrastructure, such as Boq, Perfgate, and Streamz.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain compute infrastructure (ML and graphics workloads) on our private and public cloud.
  • Design and implement tooling to serve internal and external customers.
  • Triage and debug challenging issues that arise during 3D calls.
  • Write high-quality code in C++ and other languages to support Beam's cloud stack.
