JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Card Installment Team is looking for a Software Engineer III - Java and AWS Developer to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way, serving as a seasoned member of an agile team and carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas.
Requirements
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages; Java, Spring Framework and database querying languages
- Hands-on practical experience in AWS, Containers (Kubernetes/EKS), ECS, Lambdas, Step Functions, Apache kafka
- Demonstrated proficiency in development tools and frameworks – GIT, JaCoCo, Apache Maven, Jenkins
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develop secure high-quality production code, reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
Other
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Practical cloud native experience
- In-depth knowledge of financial services industry and their IT Systems
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
