Google's Operations Research team builds technology to solve optimization problems of the world, and of Alphabet and Google in particular. The team is composed of Software Engineers and Research Scientists with expertise in various optimization techniques, ranging from Mathematical Programming to Constraint Programming, SAT-based optimization, Local Search, Vehicle Routing, and Graph algorithms. We work closely with application teams, blending various technologies to build powerful optimization solutions.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience integrating Operations Research solutions into production systems or software platforms.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Contribute to the development of our optimization tools.
- design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
