Google is looking to solve the problem of building a data platform for Persistent Disk, Google Cloud’s block storage system, to provide mission-critical storage solutions to thousands of enterprises affecting millions of users.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience building and architecting scalable distributed systems in a production environment.
- Experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience with C++.
- Experience with machine learning and systems infrastructure.
- Experience with cloud computing and hyperscale systems.
Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Build a data platform for Persistent Disk that is reliable, efficient, secure and scalable.
- Work on various impactful and interesting efforts about how to store, represent, secure and optimize data in Persistent Disk.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with software development.
