Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 1 year of experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) (e.g., Prompt Engineering, solutioning using APIs).
  • 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging).
  • Experience in API design and building systems and tools.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Implement solutions in one or more specialized ML areas, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to model optimization and data processing.
  • Create infrastructure on top of LLMs and train those models.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
