Build and secure the backbone of Joint Command and Control—engineer containerized, automated, and resilient infrastructure solutions that power GCCS-J, the DoD’s trusted system for situational awareness and joint operations.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Kubernetes installation, configuration, and patching
- Advanced proficiency with Ansible for automation (plays and playbooks)
- Strong Linux system administration and debugging skills
- Experience with Docker and virtual machine environments
- Proficiency with OCI containerized application development
- Experience hardening/locking down Kubernetes and understanding of GitOps practices
- Familiarity with build ecosystems (Maven, Gradle, Jenkins)
Responsibilities
- Support sustainment and modernization of the Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J)
- Design and deploy orchestrated operational environments to enhance resiliency, scalability, and efficiency of joint warfighter systems
- Install, configure, patch, and secure Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and compliance with DoD requirements
- Develop, optimize, and maintain Ansible plays and playbooks to automate system provisioning and configuration management
- Perform Linux system administration, troubleshooting, and debugging in mission-critical environments
- Lead technical investigations, advise the Government on infrastructure modernization, and integrate enhancements into new baselines
- Follow Agile development practices and contribute to the full lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and sustainment
