SAIC is seeking Software Engineer Interns to support the U. S. Army program in creating experimental software applications located in El Paso, Texas.
Requirements
- Experience with Java or C/C++
- Familiarity with Linux operating system and command-line interface
- Proficiency in using version control systems like Git to manage code changes
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
- Analytical skills to identify and troubleshoot technical issues, coming up with creative solutions to complex problems
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement new software features based on project requirements
- Write clean, well-documented code adhering to coding standards and best practices
- Identify, debug, and resolve software defects
- Participate in software requirements, code reviews, and test plan reviews
- Create and maintain technical documentation for developed features
- Collaborating with team members in-person and/or via Microsoft Teams to plan, estimate, and complete projects
Other
- MUST BE - El Paso, Texas local and willing to support the team year-round
- Currently enrolled in a STEM or technical degree path and two (2) years of college or work related experience
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams including product managers, analysts, and other engineers
- Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance (US citizenship required)
