CoBank is looking to solve business and technical problems related to its operations, including the transformation of a platform with over $200 billion in assets, by hiring a Software Engineer Intern.
Requirements
- Demonstrated skills primarily in the use of Java, Node.js, React, Kubernetes, AWS, and Python (preferred)
- Ability to read and understand existing programs
- Strong understanding of problem statements (or requirements), software design, programming and testing
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate problem statements into algorithms
- Aptitude for learning application frameworks used within the team
- Ability to perform research across multiple systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Take part in PI Planning and Hackathon events
- Explore and gain hands-on experience with CoBank's technology stack
- Contribute to the transformation of a platform with over $200 billion in assets
- Develop and present a capstone project at the conclusion of the internship
- Collaborate with a mentor to develop engineering skills
- Participate in agile team and learn from experienced professionals
- Work on projects that have an impact on the bank's operations
Other
- Currently enrolled in and working towards Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems and in good academic standing
- Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week
- Ability to come into the designated office at least 3 days a week
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
