Stitch Fix is looking to revolutionize how it creates and manages inventory assortments to serve every client’s unique style.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of backend engineering experience delivering production services; familiarity with e-commerce, logistics, SaaS, or platform-oriented systems is a plus.
- Fluent in at least one modern systems language—our core stack is Go and Ruby—and have proven skill with relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL), plus a knack for picking up new technologies fast.
- Solid CS foundations (data structures, concurrency, networking) and comfortable analyzing performance on tier-1, high-traffic APIs.
- Familiarity with event-driven or streaming architectures—Kafka, Pub/Sub, etc.
- Experience with modern observability stacks like Datadog.
- Experience running production services on a major cloud platform—AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar.
Responsibilities
- Help build the future of inventory at Stitch Fix, balancing fast experimental development with long-term scalable system design.
- Participate in a culture of code reviews, pairing, and open dialogue to help each other grow.
- Gain exposure to high-value business processes and directly contribute to Stitch Fix’s client experience.
- Ship with confidence—using CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, canary releases, and swift rollbacks to deploy safely and keep our performance metrics healthy.
- Run production services on a major cloud platform—AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar—and are comfortable with modern observability stacks like Datadog.
- Dig through unfamiliar services, logs, and metrics to find and fix root causes fast.
