- 12+ years of experience in building and scaling large, distributed systems.

- Expertise in backend engineering, with proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or similar languages.

- Experience designing frameworks and platforms that serve as foundational components for other teams.
- Strong mentoring skills with a history of elevating the technical capabilities of senior engineers.

- Define and drive the technical vision for seller-facing card systems, ensuring scalability across geographic markets and teams.
- Lead integrations with digital wallets, third-party platforms, and card-on-file experiences within the Square ecosystem.
- Architect resilient frameworks with comprehensive fallback and failover mechanisms to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Develop shared infrastructure for incentives and rewards, enabling product teams to experiment and engage sellers effectively at scale.
- Mentor and guide senior engineers, fostering best practices in design, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with product, design, machine learning, risk, and compliance teams to deliver secure and trusted financial solutions.
- Establish standards and practices that promote robustness, security, and efficiency across all platform components.
