Gusto is seeking experienced Software Engineers to design, develop, and maintain features across their customer-facing platform, including Payroll, Benefits, HR, Time, and Tax Credits, to simplify the complexities of managing a workforce for small businesses.
Requirements
- Experience building scalable solutions that effectively eliminate customer pain points
- Experience or interest in Ruby on Rails development
- Experience with large-scale refactors, performance optimization, and reliability improvements
- Ability to write well-structured, maintainable, and documented code
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and test Gusto's product suite across various domains including Payroll, Benefits, HR, Time, and Tax Credits
- Mentor and guide other engineers to solve complex technical challenges
- Scale and optimize large Ruby on Rails and JavaScript/React applications
- Collaborate with product management and design teams to identify customer pain points and develop innovative solutions
- Prototype, iterate, and launch new features on a regular basis
- Ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of all deployed features
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development
