Waymo is looking to build the future of autonomous driving and needs to improve the infrastructure for storing driven and simulated data of Waymo cars.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 4+ years of experience working on large-scale distributed systems.
- 4+ years of experience with C++.
- 3+ years of experience building large scale storage systems.
- 3+ years of experience building dataset management infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm, design and build new storage infrastructure features, in alignment with Waymo business priorities.
- Build and leverage relationships with partner teams to deliver solutions spanning organizational boundaries.
- Understand and improve the behavior of production systems, including instrumentation, bug fixes, provisioning, and reliability improvements.
- Improve the automation, code health, technical debt and simplify the system.
- Provide support for partners and clients.
- Responsible for overall storage cost. This includes tooling required for data curation, plus defining and implementing storage cost control policies spanning multiple Waymo teams.
