Waymo is looking to solve the problem of improving access to mobility and saving lives by developing a trusted autonomous driving technology, the Waymo Driver. The Perception team specifically needs to build the system that enables the self-driving car to 'see' the world around it by developing complex models and techniques at scale.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in Computer Vision and/or Machine Learning
• Experience with Python
• Experience with C++

Responsibilities

• Apply machine learning techniques to build multi-modal sensor fusion architectures including object detection and tracking, semantic segmentation, road understanding, and future prediction
• Create foundation scale data sets and training recipes, build generalizing model and robustify against adversarial conditions (like sensor degradation)
• Develop data mining, labeling, training and evaluation pipelines and develop automated data collection/model update flywheels

Other

• Bachelors in Computer Science or a similar discipline, or an equivalent amount of deep learning experience
• MS or PhD Degree in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science or a similar discipline
• Publications at top-tier conferences like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, ICML, ICRA, RSS, NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCV, PAMI
