UBS is looking to transform into an agile organization and deliver attractive digital products and services, and is seeking a Mainframe Developer to play a key role in this transformation.

Requirements

  • Ideally 10+ years of Mainframes experience with COBOL/DB2/JCL/SORT.
  • Ideally 3+ years of DB2 Native and Cobol Stored Procedure experience and MQ.
  • Familiar with OPC scheduling and knowing how to interpret the schedules.
  • Ideally 3+ years of Changeman experience or similar change control software.
  • Some experience in Java, Kafka, Azure, shell scripting, PowerBI, Gitlab CI/CD, new design patterns using tools like Denodo which abstract data sources as wells as some AI knowledge.
  • Nice to have but not critical are MQ, SDLC, Jira.
  • Current Hands on IT application development experience including a background of working within a large Financial Services organization with teams across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and improve the digital products and technology services we provide to our clients and employees.
  • Apply a broad range of software engineering practices, from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automated testing and deployment.
  • Ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Build observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities.
  • Own Banking technology platform entire suite of applications and products supporting business with – deposits, cards, and servicing.
  • Apply a broad range of software engineering practices to support the Global Wealth Management US (GWM US) Business and its IT Application Service Lines.

Other

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in technical or engineering discipline.
  • A strong thinker that sees problems around the corner and takes ownership to resolve them.
  • Must be able to complete the assigned task with little or no help from onshore, basically a self-starter.
  • Strong communicator, from making presentations to technical writing.
  • Interested in learning new technologies and practices, reuse strategic platforms and standards, evaluate options, and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind.
