Zachary Piper Solutions is looking to solve the problem of building core AI/ML products and infrastructure for national security and defense customers by leading a team of AI software engineers.
Requirements
- Experience in software development
- Experience in scaling products at hyper-growth startups
- Experience with AI platforms, generative models, and large language models (LLM)
- Experience with cloud technologies
- At least 5+ years of experience in engineering
- 2+ years of engineering management or equivalent experience, and running a team
Responsibilities
- Drive engineering productivity, provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to a team of engineers working on Generative AI projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and execute strategic roadmaps
- Design and implement scalable backend systems for Federal customers, leveraging modern and cloud-native AI infrastructure
- Develop distributed systems, data-intensive applications, and machine learning infrastructure to enable real impact for mission owners
- Build robust and reliable backend systems that can serve as standalone products, empowering customers to accelerate their own AI ambitions
- Participate actively in customer engagements, working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver innovative solutions
- Assist in the recruiting and hiring of engineering professionals for building the engineering team
Other
- Must have at least 5+ years of experience in engineering
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain or maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- Must be able to work in a hybrid remote environment (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
- Must be able to participate in customer engagements and work closely with stakeholders
- Must be able to recruit and hire engineering professionals for building the engineering team
