Apple Maps team is looking to deliver accurate travel times and incidents for the world in real-time, and make navigation experience more efficient and enjoyable for millions of users
Requirements
- Proven experience in working with very large-scale real-time data
- Experience in building large-scale data pipelines, possibly using Spark or Flink
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow) and model deployment
- Experience with working on cloud-based infrastructure (preferably Kubernetes)
- Experience with location data
- Front-end experience
- Programming experience with a typed-language like Java, Scala and/or C++
Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and evaluating models which process huge amounts of GPS and sensor data
- Enhancing the quality of traffic solutions, inventing features and functionality
- Improving the experiences of millions of users each and every single day
- Making substantial contributions towards the scalability and resilience of core systems
- Ensuring systems work seamlessly across different execution contexts from real-time analysis to batch processing
- Building innovative solutions for future traffic challenges using data science and ML
- Working as part of a dynamic, multi-functional team of software and ML engineers, data scientists, and traffic experts
Other
- MS/PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a quantitative field
- BS in Computer Science or a quantitative field plus at least 6 years of production level experience or expertise
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Aptitude for learning independently; prototyping and proposing new software designs
- Occasional work outside standard business hours
