Google's DevEx Performance team aims to solve the problem of Android app performance by developing tools and libraries that help developers build more efficient and scalable applications, ultimately making every Android app faster for billions of users.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience with software development, Kotlin, Android, Performance, Code Optimization, Android Apps in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience Android application or Android OS development.
- 2 years of experience with performance, API Development, API Design, Android Libraries, Performance Monitoring, Developer Tools, systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- implement new features and improving tools and libraries across Studio and Androidx to help app developers build faster apps.
- Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Other
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
