Textron Aviation is looking to solve the problem of developing, integrating, testing, and documenting motion and flight control simulations for flight training simulators across a wide range of fixed and rotary-wing commercial and military aircraft.
Requirements
- Rigorous understanding of servo control and stability.
- In-depth understanding of fixed and rotary-wing aircraft flight control systems.
- Knowledge of motion, vibration, and buffet simulation methods.
- Proficiency with modern software systems, including C/C , Python, Linux, Git.
- Direct experience designing 6DOF motion systems and/or control loading systems.
- Field experience with aircraft testing.
- Piloting knowledge of fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Development of aircraft test plans and on-site data collection support.
- Post processing of aircraft test data and preparation of simulator verification data roadmaps.
- Design of simulator motion and control loading systems.
- Development of aircraft motion and flight control simulation math models, and software to execute these models in real-time.
- Integration of simulation models with simulator hardware, computers, software, and other simulated systems.
- Preparation of simulator qualification test guides and acceptance test procedures.
- Participation in domestic and international simulator acceptance and qualification events with customers, military organizations, and commercial regulatory agencies.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree required in Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience required, preferably in developing/integrating flight dynamic models and creating Qualification Test Guides (QTGs) in the flight simulation industry
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Able to travel for extended periods domestically and internationally up to 25% annually.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
