Upstart is looking to solve the problem of enabling access to effortless credit based on true risk, by leveraging AI lending marketplace to expand access to affordable credit and deliver exceptional digital-first lending experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development with the ability to operate in a full stack capacity
- Experience in product oriented teams with quantifiable customer impact
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable microservices-based applications
- Experience with growth engineering product stacks (Optimizations, Experimentation, Personalization, Recommendation Systems, etc)
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, Kotlin, or React
Responsibilities
- Design and implement features that support intelligent, personalized offer recommendations to our user base
- Work with Product Managers, Product Designers, Research Scientists, and Marketing Managers to design and deliver high-quality products
- Leverage experimentation and data-driven insights to refine growth strategies, optimizing engagement and conversion through continuous testing, iteration, and personalization
- Promote a culture of technical excellence focused on providing high quality solutions and incrementally enhance systems with each pull request
- Enhance our logged in user dashboard, optimizing out-of-funnel cross-sell strategies, and advancing our efforts by improving data collection, pricing orchestration, and personalized offer experiences

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Travel requirements: As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely, with occasional in-person collaboration via regular onsites
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Ability to work in a remote environment and collaborate with team members in different locations
