Waymo is looking to improve the reliability of its onboard software to ensure high development velocity and safety at scale
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in C++ or Python, building scalable pipelines and tooling
- Understanding of fundamental statistical concepts and applying them in the real world
- Experience with autonomous vehicles (L4) or ADAS systems (L2/L3)
- Experience in software reliability space
Responsibilities
- Architect the backbone of onboard reliability: build the critical infrastructure and tooling ecosystem that ensures onboard software is robust and reliable by design
- Develop a deep understanding of system behavior, implementing dense, low-noise metrics providing immediate insight into vehicle and fleet performance
- Collaborate across Waymo to refine reliability workflows, ensuring business-critical operations run smoothly and safely at scale
- Engineer systems that proactively detect anomalies and automate clustering, drastically reducing the friction of managing reliability and catching issues early
Other
- BS in Comp Sci, EE, Robotics, Physics, Math, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience organizing chaos across organizational boundaries
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
