Liberty Mutual is looking to digitally transform a trillion-dollar industry by creating industry-leading solutions that provide peace of mind for customers worldwide, specifically within the Risk Proposal and Issuance Portfolio (RPI) and GRS Distribution & Underwriting Technology organization.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including AWS serverless applications, Angular UIs, Java RESTful services, Typescript
  • Understanding of eventing and orchestration of services
  • Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Scrum, Kanban or XP
  • Demonstrated success in platform modernization initiatives, utilizing technologies such as REST; micro services; cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud; and Java, NodeJS and Spring Boot
  • Ability to code in multiple languages, including an object-oriented language, preferably Java/J2EE
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools
  • Experience with Java, NodeJS and Spring Boot

Responsibilities

  • Consult on highly complex projects and solve technical problems
  • Work in an agile environment to develop software products
  • Analyze issues at the system level and handle complications that arise
  • Implement effective solutions and troubleshoot issues
  • Continually look for ways to improve performance, quality, and efficiency
  • Develop software products end-to-end
  • Streamline the quote to bind process, assess, view and communicate policy details to the broker/customer throughout the lifecycle of the policy

Other

  • A bachelor's or master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of three years of software engineering experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills—and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers
  • A collaborative, adaptable working style, demonstrated initiative and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts
  • Ability to work with a globally distributed development team
