Underdog is looking to solve the problem of building innovative games and products for American sports fans by hiring a skilled software engineer.
Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering experience
- 1+ years of professional Ruby and Ruby on Rails development experience
- Experience in fantasy sports and/or sports betting (preferred)
- Experience building highly scalable and available systems to handle high traffic conditions with low latency (preferred)
- Experience with DataDog or Amplitude (preferred)
- Knowledge of best practices for software development
- Experience with collaborative development environments
Responsibilities
- Design and develop clean, well-structured, and performant features for fantasy and sports betting products
- Work on cutting edge projects focused on gamifying and building unique features into our fantasy and sports betting products
- Collaborate with client engineers and product stakeholders from start to finish
- Advocate for best practices to create strong foundational development practices for our growing team
- Grow in a high-agency environment where you have equity in technical decision-making and are accountable for those decisions
- Work closely with other product-minded individuals to shape and deliver the next wave of transformative fantasy and sports betting products
- Raise concerns when needed and openly communicate issues
